At Standard Life, we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity. In the course of our business, it is necessary to collect, record, store, process, transmit, and otherwise handle Personal Information about individuals. We take these activities seriously and seek to provide fair, secure and appropriate methods for the handling of Personal Information. All such activities are intended to be consistent with both generally accepted privacy ethics and standard business practices.

The purpose for which Personal Information is collected must be specified on or before the collection of the information, and any change of purpose must be communicated to the client. Whenever possible, this consent must be expressed in writing, given verbally or electronically.

Collect personal information only when it is pertinent to the sales process. Keep regular and accurate accounts of all transactions with or for Standard Life. At the request of Standard Life the you must provide access to any documentation related to any financial transaction undertaken in relation to Standard Life.

It is the policyholder's responsibility to obtain authorization from its employees (the members) to collect and forward to the insurer their personal information prior to the plan issue. If members' personal information has been provided to Standard Life directly, you may not have access to this information without the written consent of the members.

Consent to collect, use and disclose Personal Information can be withdrawn at any time, subject to legal and contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.

Treat all personal information received in strictest confidence.

Information in client files is considered confidential and you must employ proper safeguards to protect its confidentiality. Except with consent, use Confidential Information relating to Standard Life's policyholders and to the members of the group plans only for the purpose of providing service to such policyholders and members in respect of such group plans and for no other purpose.

Use, retain and disclose Confidential Information in accordance with applicable laws and regulation related to the protection of privacy.

Information disclosed to Benefits Advisors is provided in full compliance with Standard Life's Privacy Policy to support the administration of the Group Plan. You must therefore adhere to this policy.
